Ahhh it’s (finally) September! As much fun… and as much as I already miss summer…it is definitely relieving to settle in one place and turn to a routine. The best (and worst) part of spending three months in New York, in between trips to California and Europe, was the constant feeling to indulge in adventure and the excitement of a new setting (i.e. explore, eat great food, and keep an ‘on-the-go’ lifestyle). Now that I’m back for my last year of college my focus is set on refreshing and relaxing–– hence why my September picks are extra cozy and a bit low-key.
In my few short weeks of being back I have caught up on Netflix, amped up my skin care regimen, joined a yoga studio, read all the September issues on newsstands (obviously), and traded my burger and soft serve cravings for sweet potatoes and kale. Post-internship there is not the same pressure to sport the newest styles, but dressing casual for class does not need to compromise fashion.
Natural colors and muted hues are an easy transition to fall, and when layered in textures (think suede, cashmere, and crocodile) your comfy look is automatically elevated. This idea is present in all aspects of my life this month; Simple adjustments to look polished and fashion-forward for any occasion. So mist your self with floral Jo Malone, hydrate with a monochrome BKR, sweat in an Outdoor Voices set, and get some extra beauty sleep with Slip’s silk sleep mask.
You’re welcome in advance!
Happy September! Xo Sophie
