At the risk of sounding cliché, there is truly no place more magical than Paris. The romantic facade of the “City of Love” can be credited to the picturesque architecture, dreamy landmarks, and cool je ne sais quoi of perfectly-French street style. To make the most during a Parisian getaway, both a carefully curated suitcase and itinerary are key. Read on to see what to “wear for where”, inspired by my summer trip to this French city.

Iconic French landmarks call for iconic French stripes. When visiting the Eiffel Tower at the beginning of my trip, high-waisted white trousers and a crew neck Tee made a cool, yet casual outfit perfect for a day exploring the city. Finish your look with an oversized pair of sunglasses, classic white sneakers… and a cappuccino with extra foam.
The most amazing French style –– think the runways of Isabel Marant –– starts with girly prints and airy fabrics mixed with relaxed cool-girl pieces. A simple way to recreate this is by tucking a chic graphic T-shirt into floral ruffled shorts or a skirt. Again white sneakers, from Parisian brand Veja, are cool and practical for exploring the city by foot.
There is no easier (nor chic-er!) outfit than throwing on a girly linen dress. Pair it with white sneakers–– perfect for exploring the gardens of Versailles and then climbing the steps to reach Montmartre. Drape a colorful cropped denim over your shoulders to stay warm for dinner al-fresco.
Throughout the night, every hour (on the hour) the Eiffel Tower becomes even more magical when its gold glow begins to twinkle for 5 straight minutes. Spend your midnight in Paris wearing an ankle length wrap dress paired with strappy nude heeled sandals. A leather jacket will give a cool edge and keep you warm on a chilly night.
French girls are masters at walking the fine line between menswear and uber-feminine style. A striped blazer makes an all-white ensemble feel polished, while a playful graphic Tee keeps it feeling daytime-casual. I found this look just as perfect for traveling, via train, through the French countryside, as it was to grab dinner and check destinations, like the Arc De Triomphe, off our “Parisian bucket list”.
